Reflection Of My Last Two Months In Kyrgyzstan

It's been a while... But I'm alive and well, and still here!! During my last two months in Kyrgyzstan, the Lord revealed Himself to me in ways I never imagined. Aside from my love-hate relationship with the winter storms and the occasional sliding on ice like a penguin-- I've grown so much closer to Jesus. In entering this trip I thought that doing ministry in a foreign country would be a fun adventure filled with just laughter and highlights. Those moments did exist, however, they didn't take up the entirety of the trip. Something valuable that I was taught over and over again by the Lord is that He uses me when I'm weakest. There were many times when I sat with the Lord and questioned if I was truly fit to be out there. Many times when I doubted my calling of where He had put me. From those insecurities, He glorified Himself and taught me what it means to trust in him. Being able to give some of that same encouragement to my team ended up encouraging me in the process of pushing one another to deepen our relationship with Christ. Truly learning what it means to live out Proverbs 27:17, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." I'm grateful for the opportunity the Lord has given me to meet such unique and God-fearing individuals. An excitement overcomes me knowing I get to spend a few more months growing and living out what it means to love and serve others as long as one another in ministry. During my time in ministry in Kyrgyzstan, I found myself hurting from some of the stories I was told by the students I was with. Learning of some of the strict households they came from. Some of them even told me that celebrating Christmas was shameful and would bring their family dishonor. Being able to invite some of them over and show the Jesus Film was a night of break-through. There were so many hearts eager to learn and ask questions about
who He was and why He died on the cross for us. It was one of my many highlights in Kyrgyzstan. Thank you for being patient and sticking along with me on the journey. A Thailand post is soon to come! :)
Here are some of my favorite pictures/moments

Oh my gosh Abby. I LOVE this. Thank you for your honesty, for continuing to trust Jesus when you don't feel like it and for impacting lives around the world!!!
